4 Ways to Drive Down Inbound Freight Total Cost of Ownership
How LiVe Logistics Can Optimize Your Inbound Transportation
Some experienced transportation and logistics professionals make the mistake of focusing too much on outbound freight costs and not enough on the costs of inbound freight, warehousing and fulfillment.
As a result, unchecked inbound freight costs can fly under the radar and erode profitability. Many CPGs, manufacturers and retailers have intimate knowledge of their cost of goods sold (COGS) but not how much it costs to get there.

How to Reduce Inbound Costs & Increase Profitability
Outsourced Warehousing & Fulfillment
LiVe Logistics can help you reduce costs and shipping time, and increase your customer satisfaction with whatever combination of the following is needed:
- Display and modular display building
- Eaches/pieces fulfilment
- Kitting
- Pick and pack
- Online order fulfillment
- PO management
- Sequencing
LTL Pool Distribution Linehaul Network
LiVe Logistics has developed a pool distribution linehaul network for less-than-truckload (LTL) shipments that offers comparable service levels to our tier one full truckload (FTL) vendors. Your LTL shipments are picked up by dedicated local trucks and brought to our facility, combined into FTL shipments on dedicated (low cost) lanes, and separated back into LTL shipments for delivery over the “last mile” by dedicated local trucks.
Customer Pick-Up (CPU) Option
LiVe Logistics can often save you another 5-15% on inbound freight by helping you negotiate a CPU option with your vendors. They may be willing to charge you significantly less if you arrange and pay for shipping, and we can often find more cost-effective trucking options.
Drayage & Transloading for Imports
LiVe Logistics can unload your containers so you don’t need to flex your labor up and down. We can also palletize and wrap your products – many of our clients can go from 3 onsite employees working 2-3 hours per shipment to one employee for about 30 minutes.
LiVe Logistics can also control the flow out of the port and rail yard to reduce demurrage. We can pick up your shipment on a Sunday, store it cost-effectively with all the labor and equipment needed, and get it to your facility on a Monday, Tuesday or whenever you need it. Our drayage service can also pick up and deliver your shipments from one location to another, to a rail yard, or to another other location.
